Rare Disease Day Feb 28, 2026

in ,

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) and Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumour (GIST), are both classified as rare diseases. Both conditions require prolonged and life long treatment with special emphasis on compliance and good adherence behaviour is vital to achieving best outcomes.

For families facing these diagnoses, the journey can feel overwhelming. At Friends of Max (FOM), we understand these realities deeply. But what is truly heartening is this:

✨With accurate and timely interventions, patients can live lives filled with hope, dignity and purpose.

At FOM, through our patient centric activities, we make sure that RARE does not mean feeling alone, does not mean being unheard and does not mean to be without support.

We ensure patients find the much needed emotional, informational and financial support they need to live a normal life.

So today, on Rare Disease Day, we wish our patient community well and extend our gratitude to everyone who stands with us in our mission and vision.
