This World CML Day, Friends of Max is proud to bring you stories of 12 young minds (written by Viji Venkatesh, Managing Trustee, FOM) — children whose lives were disrupted by a diagnosis of CML, yet who continue to go to school, play with their friends and siblings, and live their childhoods with courage and hope.
Through Project Shiksha, supported by funds raised via Chai for Cancer, FOM’s unique awareness and fund raising campaign, and our corporate supporters, currently supports more than a hundred such children with their educational needs. This small window into the lives of a few of them is a celebration of their spirit — and an invitation for more kind-hearted supporters to join hands in helping many more children continue their schooling.
The Project Shiksha booklet was launched at this year’s World CML Day gathering at PGI, Chandigarh — an inspiring event that brings together hundreds of CML patients and their families for a day of learning, sharing, loving, and giving.
We remain deeply grateful to Dr. Pankaj Malhotra and his wonderful team for hosting this event each year, creating the perfect setting to introduce this meaningful collection of stories.
