A day observed globally every year to raise awareness about childhood cancer and to express support for children and adolescents with cancer, the survivors and their families. This year, the theme is Inspiring Action
Every year, more than 400,000 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer. The rate of survival is as low as 20% in Low & Middle Income Countries. According to an article in the US National Institute of Health, Leukaemia and Lymphoma are the commonest malignancies in boys whereas Leukaemia and Brain Tumours were the commonest in girls.
At Friends of Max, we have seen children and young adults diagnosed with cancer and with the right support, blossom into strong patient leaders and wonderful human beings. As the world’s largest support group for CML and GIST patients, FOM reaffirms its commitment and support to help cancer patients on lifelong medication to live life to the maximum.
